Batman Eye Of The Beholder Hc Tony S Daniel Andy Clake Books
First of all this graphic novel collects Batman issues 704-707, 710-712. A lot of sights have not gotten that information right but these are the actual issues included in here. The first story is the main event, Eye of the Beholder written and penciled by Tony Daniel. Dick Grayson is still patrolling the mean streets of Gotham, even with Bruce back. He is annoyed with Catwoman for taking on a protege, Catgirl, and fighting ninjas led by an old foe searching for the all powerful Beholder mask. The second story is Pieces written by Tony Daniel and penciled by Steve Scott. The Falcone crime family tries to retake it's place as Gotham's ultimate and only crime outfit in town, all at the expense of Two-Face losing his coin.
Tony Daniel's artwork is gorgeous! His pages are very alive and vibrant. The covers are amazing. Scott is good but a step down from Daniel. Having said all that, Daniel is a better penciler than writer. There is not a lot of depth nor well thought out plotting to these stories, but they are probably his best since his run began on Batman. Everything is very on the surface as if to set up for big battles but the stories are fun and entertaining. The Riddler shows up here and there as if setting up for a future storyline but with the new 52 who knows if it will come to be.
The first story is more solid but the second had a better premise but isn't executed to it's potential. All in all a good adventure.
Again, this is a Batman story with a lot of beautiful artwork and two stories that won't blow you away but are fun adventures with old nemesis. A really good entry for Batman fans!

Batman Eye Of The Beholder Hc Tony S Daniel Andy Clake Books Reviews
"Batman Eye of the Beholder" gives graphic novel collectors the last few issues of the Dark Knight's self-titled series before the New 52 reboot. I expected it to have issues #704 through #713, but numbers 708, 709, and 713 are missing. It's really not surprising, seeing how those issues are made up of two one-shot stories and the wrap-up of a crossover story. Two stories written by Tony S. Daniel wind the original monthly down in style after 73 years of continuity.
The four-part "Eye of the Beholder" revolves around a wealthy technology developer and his daughter. They come to town in search of a joint project with WayneTech on the eve of Bruce Wayne's return to Gotham City. The proposal revolves around DNA tracking and has caught the attention of other investors. After the developer turns up missing, Batman ventures into the dangerous Chinatown district of Gotham to find the missing tycoon and comes up against a bloodthirsty new Triad gang.
The second story arc entitled "Pieces" sees the return of Two-Face to Gotham City. Someone is looking to assassinate the conflicted super-villain and other kingpins of the Gotham crime world. Batman finds himself protecting Kitrina Falcone / Catgirl when he learns she's the next target for termination. Can the Caped Crusader save her alone or will he need Catwoman's assistance? In the midst of all this, the Dark Knight finds himself coming to blows with Two-Face after his coin is stolen. He also finds himself in a deadly encounter with the Riddler and his daughter.
Both stories are penned by Tony S. Daniel, who has long manned the helm of the Batman monthly series. Anyone who's picked the title up randomly over the past couple of years knows how entertaining his writing is. He appreciates the world of Batman and constantly delivered complex and enthralling storylines month after month.
Daniels' elaborate artwork graces the pages of "Eye of the Beholder." He continues to be one of my favorite Batman artists. Twenty years down the road he'll define the visual look of Batman in the 2000s the way Neal Adams does the 1970s and Norm Breyfogle the 1990s.
Steve Scott and Andy Smith handle the penciling for "Pieces." Their art and Daniels' is obviously dissimilar, but as "realistic" and precise without being a carbon copy. The difference in styles works well together and isn't distracting.
"Batman Eye of the Beholder" is a fine addition to anyone's library of graphic novels. A combination of entertaining stories and dazzling artwork make this a must-read. Dark Knight enthusiasts will need it to complete their collection of the original run of the "Batman" series.
this is a great collection of comics, good solid story and a good read for any batman fan, definatly recommend this book, good stuff.
It was good. Liked the Two-Face story. Wish it had more of Two-Face. The other story was not bad as well.
Cool read.
This was a great story and artwork. I liked not having to wait months to finish the story. If you like Batman you'll enjoy this book.
Dick Grayson is a amazing Batman. Really, good read storyline was pretty amazing. Good book for your Batman collection. So, if your a Dick Grayson fan you'll like this one.
This was the first full Tony Daniel Batman story I have read and I am impressed. This is what a Batman book should be. Really cool looking artwork and 2 great stories featuring Dick Grayson as the Batman patrolling Gotham City (These stories takes place during the current Batman inc storyline). It's dark and gritty. It's well written. And I like that Tony Daniel give Batman some quality detective work to do. I sometimes forget that Batman is a top notch detective but luckily writer Tony Daniel hasn't. I have no major complaints about this book so I would highly recommend it to Batman fans.
