(I'm not sure how but I missed writing a review for this book especially since I'm a HUGE fan of this series so without further ado here it is now.....)

Born to Fight, the sequel to Born, is just as good if not better than the first book. The book picks up right where the first book left off and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Emma and Leo are back along with their family/'us', Will(swoon ;), Jake(love his humor and goofiness), and Anna(I love her tough as nails attitude). Emma is still the same kick-ass heroine we all know and love from the first book and Leo is still her awesome wolf side kick.
In this book Emma's 'us' continues to grow as she learns more about herself and how the world around her came to be and that her past and what she thought about herself turns out to be something she never imagined. She and her family continue to fight the infected and the horrible people that continue to threaten her friends and home all the while setting their sights on the man who started it all(you'll have to read to find out who he is ;)).
Emma's love life also takes some twists and turns in this book as well and I couldn't decide who I wanted her to be with more at times(though I have to say Will stole my heart since we met him in the first book ;)) As for who she picks you'll have to wait and read for yourself.
I really enjoyed the plot of this book it was well paced and intense. There were plenty of twists and turns and overall it was a excellent sequel to an excellent first book.Trust me it will leave you dying for more and will leave you craving book 3!I

Emma finds out she is Gen-seed which means she was made so that she is stronger then humans and does not get sick. She is also immune to the zombie virus. Lenny who she thought was her dad is actually her uncle and her real father is the one who started all this mess by messing around with genetics. Almost all the other kids like her are mean and violent without any reasoning. She cannot figure out which brother will best suit her, Will or Jake. She has feelings for both for different reasons on how they make her feel. Emma is not used to carrying for people because she was alone for so long and her father Lenny always told her it was us versus them and not to trust anyone. These people she has helped and let in are now like family to her. How can she keep letting them get into danger because of her? She has to figure out a way to make them safe.
I gave this book five stars because I love how the author sets the stage of "what" the female hero of this series (Emma) really is. And I like all of the different places they travel to. It really is an adventure! And there is a little more romance in this one which I like too. There are still some grammatical errors, but not enough to take away from the awesome story, which still reminds me of The Maze Runner series, with the reference to experimenters and zombies, but this Born series has a female heroine and a lot of survival references which reminds me a lot of The Hunger Games series. So if you like the Maze Runner and hunger games series you'll love this one too! It does make references to more adult themes such as "breeder farms" and rape, so a little older audience verses younger may be more recommended... I can't wait to read the last book in this Born series!
The second book was just okay for me and quite hard to follow as it seemed to jump all over the place and did not make sense at times. If you can get past editing mistakes, it is a fun read and I wish the author would decide who Emma ends up with as the love triangle is getting old. Neither seems to particularly suitable but I guess beggars can't be choosy though it became quite annoying at times the way she changed her mind and then decides on none of them and then changes it again. Overall it is a pleasant read but definitely not one to keep you up late at night turning the pages to try to reach the end.

I own this book in ebook format, but was given the audio version to review. This second installment to the Born Trilogy is just as good as book 1. Em, Anna, Jake, Will, and Leo go on a new journey in this book and oh boy is a ringer! They run into some of the same problems, and gain new ones as well. Survival is key and trying to save others becomes part of their survival. Without giving away spoilers it is hard to express exactly how awesome this series is. If you like survival, dystopian, original story lines, or just an awesome story…then you will love this novel! Read or listen to it and you will be immersed in this sad but detailed world. Tara Brown/AE Watson is a Queen of sucking you into a story and she definitely does it again. You will love this story! 5 BIG STARS!
I read this book in less than a day! I literally couldn’t put my phone down because I just had to know what will happen next. The need is still there.. thank goodness I don’t have to work tomorrow. I love this series and living with Emma and she changes and becomes more than she was in ‘Born’. She has matured so much just in the span on these books so far. I am continually amazed that this character has flaws, she fights depression and anxiety. She faces her fears and pulls off the impossible. She is my hero! All of these characters are beautiful and flawed; so real. I simply can’t get enough.
Okay, so Emma is still in the love triangle, but leaning more towards the abusive will. He still cannot figure out why Leo growls at him all the time. Could it be because of his violent ways? We learn Emma is a first generation breeder baby, which is supposed to make her faster, stronger and smarter than others. This isn't shown at all in the book. In fact, just the opposite is shown. She was almost raped by breeder catchers, and only got away with help from another girl. Not strong. She barely makes it to the city gates before these same men capture her. Not fast. She keeps pining for an abusive guy, not very smart. You have to show what you are saying is true. Can't just say something is, then contradict it at every turn.
